RB Leipzig's rise to the upper echelons of the Bundesliga last season has shocked everyone this season. Part of that, and an equally surprising aspect, has been the sublime goalscoring return of Timo Werner.
Die Bullen clearly saw something in Werner, splashing a club record €10million on him in the summer. But no one could have expected his return of 14 goals in a single campaign.
That figure outclasses the entire total he topped up in three senior seasons with Stuttgart.
He's received his first ever Germany call up for the current international break. It will be interesting to see how he performs on that stage.
